A real music player, not a file browser.
1-bit scans your library into albums, artists, and playlists, then plays it to your DAC the way it was recorded — no system mixer, no resampling, no hidden processing.

Bit-exact DSD over DoP
DSF and DFF wrapped in DoP straight to a USB DAC — DSD64, DSD128, DSD256, never transcoded to PCM.
Native-rate PCM
FLAC, ALAC, WAV, AIFF, MP3, and AAC at the file's own sample rate — 44.1 through 192 kHz.
Gapless playback
Seamless between tracks when the format matches — the DoP marker phase is preserved across boundaries.

The whole point
Bit-exact, end to end.
iOS has no first-party way to play DSD, and most apps quietly transcode it to 48 kHz PCM. 1-bit doesn't touch the bits — what audiophiles call bit-perfect, taken literally.

Bit-exact, end to end
DSF and DFF files are read off your network or local storage, wrapped in DoP (DSD-over-PCM) frames, and handed straight to the USB audio endpoint. No system mixer, no resampling, no dithering. If your DAC reports DoP lock, you are hearing the original 1-bit stream.
DSD uses a full pre-cache by default so the marker stream can't stutter on network jitter. PCM goes direct: the hardware sample rate is renegotiated to match the file. The render thread is lock-free, with per-DAC PLL settling tuned for the trickier hardware.
Going through a 1-bit bridge? TLS fingerprint pinning means only the bridge you paired with can serve audio to your phone — no public CA, no MITM window, and no transcoding on the wire.

The biggest release since launch. A spatial renderer, live meters fed by a tap that only ever reads, favorites that follow you across devices, and a measured answer to “is this file really what it claims to be?”
Spatial audio (beta)
A binaural renderer that opens stereo out around your head, with head tracking on supported AirPods. PCM only — DSD is never touched — and off unless you pick it.
Live audio meters
A real-time spectrum and true-peak analyzer in Signal Path, fed by a tap on the audio your DAC receives. It reads; it never changes a byte. Off by default.
Favorites
Heart a track or an album and find the lot in the library's new Favorites section. Switch on backup for your own bridge (off by default, per bridge) and they follow you to your other devices, and feed a mix on Home.
Composers and genres
Two new ways into the library, tuned for the way classical names and multi-genre tags are actually written. Both turn up in search, and Siri takes genre requests.
Is it really hi-res?
Bridge tracks show a measured true peak, a dynamic-range score, key and tempo — and FLAC files are checked against the encoder's own checksum, so an altered file gets flagged.

At least one source — an SMB share (Synology, QNAP, TrueNAS, macOS, Samba), a 1-bit bridge, a UPnP/DLNA media server, or a folder of music on the device itself.

For DSD, a USB DAC with DoP (USB-C or a Lightning-to-USB adapter). PCM plays through any output, including Bluetooth and the built-in speaker.
Works with your DAC
Connect any DoP-capable USB DAC — Chord, iFi, FiiO, Topping and more — and 1-bit sends DSD straight to it. Plug in a profiled one and 1-bit shows you the settings it was tuned for. Not sure whether yours makes the list?

Why is it free?
No telemetry play — there's nothing to monetize. The app ships no analytics SDKs and collects nothing by default; this website uses only Vercel's cookieless visit counts plus a tap counter on the download buttons (no cookies, no profiles, nothing sold or shared). The companion bridge is free to self-host, with its source public on GitHub. 1-bit is a personal project — I built it because nothing on iOS played my own library bit-perfect to my DAC, and I share it free.
